A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the
City of Kent, washington, authorizing the
Public works Director to direct the Traffic
Engineer to remove signs which prohibit parking
of any motor or other vehicle at any time on
certain roadways within the City for the time
period of July 5 through October 31, 1988.
WHEREAS, Hytek Finishing corporation is currently engaged
in a hazardous waste cleanup at its existing building site located
within the City of Kent; and
WHEREAS, the construction project will obstruct the
current Hytek Finishing employee parking lot for the period of
time commencing July 5, through no later than October 31, 1988; and
WHEREAS, Cliff Johnson of Hytek Finishing has requested
temporary use of the street areas of south 200th Street from 80th
Avenue South to 84th Avenue South (both sides), and 8lst Avenue
South from South 200th Street to south 196th Street (both sides)
for employee parking purposes during this time period. These
areas are currently designated as no-parking zones by the Traffic
Engineer pursuant to the authority granted in Kent City Code
section 10.06.010; and
WHEREAS, the Public works Committee on June 27, 1988
unanimously approved the request of Hytek Finishing for
authorization to allow parking in those areas subject to
conditions to be developed by the Transportation Division of the
Public Works Department; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Kent City Council authorizes the Public
Works Director to direct the Traffic Engineer to remove or cover
existing signs which prohibit the parking of any motor or other
vehicle at any time on the following roadways or portions thereof:
A. South 200th Street: from 80th Avenue South to 84th
Avenue South (both sides).
B. 8lst Avenue south: from south 200th Street to south
196th Street (both sides).
Section 2. The removal or covering of the no-parking
signs shall be subject to such terms and conditions as determined
by the Public works Director.
Section 3. The action authorized by this resolution
shall commence upon the passage of this resolution and extend
through October 31, 1988.
