A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the
City of Kent, Washington, pertaining to the
Discontinuation of the Operation of the Solid
waste Utility and be it hereby known that the
Kent City Council does not favor any of the
three companies over the other for certifica-
tion for the collection of solid waste.
WHEREAS, in 1986, the Kent City Council determined that
the City of Kent should discontinue the operation of its solid
waste utility effective January 1, 1987, and
WHEREAS, effective January 1, 1987, solid waste
collection services in the City began being provided by companies
certified by the Washington Utilities and Transportation
Commission to provide such service, and
WHEREAS, the washington Utilities and Transportation
Commission is now considering applications from three companies
requesting permanent certification to provide such service.
NOW THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby does not favor any of
the three applicant companies one over the other for certification
for the collection of solid waste in the City of Kent.
Passed at a regular meeting of the City Council of the

The Mayor concurs that the Kent City Council approved
this Resolution this c-2; day of (5/~i-\~ce , 1987.
