A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the
City of Kent, Washington, relating to the
office of City Administrator; providing for a
contract for executive search services;
acknowledging interim operation and related
matters.
WHEREAS, Richard c. cushing has announced his resignation
from the position of City Administrator; and
WHEREAS, The Mayor has recommended that an executive
search process be commenced to provide for a thorough and
expeditious review of qualified applicants; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor has appointed the City Attorney to
serve as Acting City Administrator on the effective date of the
resignation of Richard c. cushing, and during the process leading
to the selection of a City Administrator; NOW THEREFORE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Mayor is authorized to execute an
agreement with Waldron and Company to provide for executive search
and consultation services for the position of City Administrator.
Section 2. The process and schedule proposed by the
Mayor for selection of a City Administrator be and the same is
hereby endorsed.
Section 3. The appointment of the City Attorney to serve
as Acting City Administrator from the effective date of the
resignation of Richard c. cushing and during the process leading
to the selection of a City Administrator is acknowledged. While
acting as City Administrator, the City Attorney shall be
compensated only as, and at the rate currently provided for, the
City Administrator, but shall continue to serve as City Attorney.
