A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the
City of Kent, Washington, supporting and
encouraging the efforts of the Green River
Murders Task Force and pledging a reward of
$5,000 for information resulting in the arrest
and prosecution of the person or persons
responsible for the Green River Murders.
~lliEREAS a number of heinous murders have taken place
over the past few years; and
WHEREAS twenty victims of a killer or killers have been
found in locales around the City of Kent and its neighboring
communities; and
~mEREAS, such murders have been identified as the Green
River Murders; and
WHEREAS, a task force has formed to investigate said
murders; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Kent,
Washington, pledges its support and encouragement to those
involved in the Green River Murders Task Force; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Kent,
Washington, further supports the efforts of the neighboring
Highline Community and the efforts of the Highline Community
Council to provide a reward fund to assist in the resolution of
these crimes; NOW THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Kent,
Washington, pledges its support and encouragement to the Green
River Murders Task Force.
Section 2. The City Council of the City of Kent,
Washington, pledges $5,000 for the Green River Murders Reward
Fund, sponsored by the Highline Community Council, in order that
such a reward be available to the individual or individuals whose
information results in the arrest and prosecution of the person or
persons responsible for the Green River Murders.
