HomeMy WebLinkAbout1007CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. /tD7 j A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of Kent, Washington, declaring its intention to order the improvement of s. 259th Street and 74th Avenue South, including installation of curbs, sidewalks, street lighting, a water main, sanitary sewer lines and drainage pipes, and to create a local improvement district to assess a part of the cost and expense of carrying out such improvements against the properties specially benefited thereby, and notifying all persons who desire to object to the improvements to appear and present their objections at a hearing before the City Council to be held on February 21~ 1984. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, as follows: Section 1. It is the intention of the City Council of the City of Kent, Washington, to order the improvement of the properties within the area described in Exhibit A, attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof, by the improve- ment of S. 259th Street and 74th Avenue South, including instal- lation of curbs, sidewalks, street lighting, a water main, sanitary sewer lines and drainage pipes within the City as described in Exhibit B, attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof. Section 2. The total estimated cost and expense of the improvements is declared to be $1,870,437.26 and approximately $90,009.00 of such cost and expense shall be paid by the City and the balance thereof shall be borne by and assessed against the property specially benefited by such improvements to be included in a local improvement district to be established embracing as nearly as practicable all the property specially benefited by the improvements. Section 3. All persons who may desire to object to the improvements described herein are notified to appear and present such objections at a hearing before the City Council to be held in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in Kent, Washington, at 7!r:o ,.m. on February 211 1984, which time and place are fixed for hearing all matters relating to the proposed improvements and all objections thereto and for determining the method of payment for those improvements. All persons who may desire to object thereto should appear and present their objections at such hearing. Any person who may desire to file a written protest with the City Council may do so within thirty days after the date of passage of the ordinance ordering the improvement in the event the local improvement district is formed. Such written protest should be signed by the property owner and should include the legal description of the property for which the protest is filed and such protest should be delivered to the City Clerk. Section 4. The City's Director of Public Works is directed to submit to the City Council on or prior to February 21, 1984, all data and information required by law to be submitted. EXHIBIT "B" L.I.D. 315 74th Avenue S. and S. 259th Street Utility Improvements LEGAL DESCRIPTION See Exhibit "A" attached and made a part hereto STREET IMPROVEMENTS S. 259th Street from Puqet Power R/W west to 74th Avenue S. and 74th Avenue S. from S. 259th Street north to SR 516. Includes 36 foot street curb to curb, sidewalk (one side) and street liqhting. Also includes a new intersection with SR 516 located just east of the SR 167 interchange. WATER MAIN Construction of a 10-inch main to complete a loop from U.P. tracks on S. 259th west to 74th Avenue and north to Willis Street. Also included are stubs to properties and fire hydrants as required. SANITARY SEWER Construction of 8-inch sanitary sewer lines including stubs to prooerties on 74th Avenue from Willis Street to S. 259th Street. DRAINAGE Construction of a 12-inch to 36-inch p1p1nq system on 74th Avenue, S. 259th and on easements leading to storage ponds adjacent to Puget Power R/W. Also includes the construction of the storm water storage pond along the entire east side of the Foster plat. A 54-inch outlet pipe from the storage pond to the river will also be installed.
