HomeMy WebLinkAbout1000CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. /0{){) A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of Kent, Washington, declaring its intention to order street, water main and sanitary sewer improvements to Meeker Street from the West Valley Highway to Green River and to create a local improvement district to assess a part of the cost and expense of carrying.out such improvements against the properties specially benefited thereby, and notifying all persons who desire to object to the improvements to appear and present their objections at a hearing before the City Council to be held on September 6, 1983. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, as follows: Section 1. It is the intention of the City Council of the City of Kent, Washington, to order the improvement of the prop- erties within the area described in Exhibit A, attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof, by the street, water main and sanitary sewer improvements to Meeker Street from the West Valley Highway to Green River as described in Exhibit B, attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof. Section 2. The total estimated cost and expense of the improvements is declared to be $2,105,730.15 and approximately $937,119.00 of such cost and expense shall be paid by the City and the balance thereof shall be borne by and assessed against the property specially benefited by such improvements to be included in a local improvement district to be established embracing as nearly as practicable all the property specially benefited by the improvements. Section 3. All persons who may desire to object to the improvements described herein are notified to appear and present such objections at a hearing before the City Council to be held in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in Kent, Washington, at 7 p.m. on September 6, 1983, which time and place are fixed for hearing all matters relating to the proposed improvements and all objections thereto and for determining the method of payment for those improvements. All persons who may desire to object thereto should appear and present their objections at such hearing. Any person who may desire to file a written pro- test with the City Council may do so within thirty days after the date of passage of the ordinance ordering the improvement in the event the local improvement district is formed. Such written protest should be signed by the property owner and should include the legal description of the property for which the protest is filed and such protest should be delivered to the City Clerk. Section 4. The City•s Director of Public Works is directed to submit to the City Council on or prior to September 6, 1983, all data and information required by law to be submitted. Three lane roadway, two lanes each direction with center two-way turn lane and a bike lane each direction (44 foot wide curb to curb) 2. Curb and gutter 3. Sidewalks on both sides 4. Storm drainage system 5. Street lighting 6. Undergrounding of power and telephone lines 7. Street trees Location: Meeker Street from West Valley Highway to the Green River. A storm drainage system only will also be installed on an easement from Meeker Street to James Street. This easement is 900 feet west of 64th Avenue South.
