A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the
City of Kent, Washington regarding the
petition for vacation of a portion of S.E.
260th Street lying between Lot 6 and 7 in the
Plat of Parson•s addition to the City of Kent
as recorded in Volume 58 of Plats, Page 22,
Records of King County; setting a public
hearing for January 17, 1983.
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 850 of the City of Kent, August
21, 1978, set a public hearing for September 18, 1978, for a
proposed vacation of a portion of S.E. 260th Street east of 108th
Avenue S.E.; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 863 of the City of Kent, March
5, 1979, rescheduled the public hearing for April 2, 1979; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on April 2, 1979,
following which the City Council directed the preparation of an
ordinance vacating this portion of S.E. 260th Street and for the
ordinance to be recorded after certain conditions were met; and
WHEREAS, the conditions required for the street vacation
have not been satisfied and it is desirable that a public hearing
be held in order to determine whether the petition for vacation of
S.E. 260th continues to be in the public interest, or should be
rejected; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. A public hearing on the petition for
vacation of a portion of S.E. 260th Street shall be at a regular
meeting of the Kent City Council to be held at 7:00p.m., January
17, 1983, in the Council Chambers in City Hall, Kent, Washington.
Section 2. The City Clerk shall give proper notice of
the hearing and cause the notice to be posted as provided by law.
Section 3. The Director of Public Works shall provide
necessary information from affected departments and shall transmit
said information to the City Council so the matter can be consid-
ered by the City Council at a regular meeting on January 17, 1983.
Adopted at a regular meeting of the Kent City Council
this 20th day of December 1982.
