A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the
City of Kent, Washington, recognizing the Kent
Police Explorers Post No. 298 as an
organization volunteering assistance to the
Kent Police Department.
WHEREAS, the Kent Police Explorer Post #298 is
requesting a resolution by the Mayor and Kent City Council to
recognize them as an organization volunteering assistance to the
Kent Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the Kent Police Explorer Post has existed for
two years and is comprised of young people from the ages of 14 -
20 years of age; and
WHEREAS, the Kent Police Explorers have donated many
service hours to the City of Kent resulting in a substantial
savings to the public and better service to the community; and
WHEREAS, the Explorers assist in Traffic Control at
special events, such as the Kent Cornucopia Days and the
dedication of the Mill Creek Earthworks Park. Further, they
assist Police officers in investigations at major crime scenes
through perimeter security and evidence searches; assist the
clerical staff, and jail staff; and are members of the Crime
Prevention Unit and do community service projects;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON,
Section 1. The citizens of the City of Kent,
Washington, by and through their Mayor and City Council do hereby
recognize Kent Police Explorer Post #298 as an organization
volunteering assistance to the Kent Police Department.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Kent,
