RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION of the City Council
of the City of Kent, Washington, relating
to repair, constiuction and reconstruction
of sidewalks and related matters and the
obligation of abutting owners.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, AS
Section 1. It is the policy of the City Council of
the City of Kent, Washington, to encourage the repair of and instal-
lation of sidewalks by or at the expense of the adjacent property
owners in all of the City. The highest priority is the repair of
existing sidewalks. The order of priority for the installation of
sidewalks is:
A. Within the Central Business District.
B. From the Central Business District out-
ward along major connecting streets.
c. In the vicinity of elementary schools
and outward to provide sidewalks for all
students residing within one mile of
such schools.
D. In the vicinity of junior high schools
and high schools and outward to provide
sidewalks for all students residing
within two miles of such schools.
E. Along all new streets being constructed
or widened.
F. Along all other streets not included in
the above categories.
Section 2. The aforementioned expressions of policy
by the City may be subject to change, modifications or amendment
from time to time.
