A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of
Kent, Washington, REPEALING Resolution 1493, which
authorized the commencement of the City's proposed Green
River Annexation process under the election method of
annexation, terminating the "Notice oflntention" process with
the King County Boundary Review Board, and reaffirming
the formal termination of the property owner petition method
annexation of the Green River Annexation area.
WHEREAS, the City has been unable to obtain concurrence from King
County government on the boundaries of the City's proposed "Green River Annexation"; and
WHEREAS, King County has been involved in litigation regarding its zoning
of certain lands within the proposed Green River Annexation area; and
WHEREAS, because of these reasons, it would not be appropriate at this time
to continue the Green River Annexation process. NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: City of Kent Resolution No. 1493, pertaining to the
commencement of proceedings on the proposed Green River Annexation by the election
method, is REPEALED.

SECTION 2: The City Clerk is directed to file a copy of this resolution with
the King County Auditor and with the Washington State Boundary Review Board for King
County("BRB"), together with a letter notifying the BRB that the City is terminating its
"Notice of Intent" action with the BRB.
SECTION 3: The property owner petition method of annexation originally
commenced for the Green River Annexation area is also formally terminated because of the
inability to obtain the requisite number of property owner signatures representing at least
sixty percent of the assessed valuation in the annexation area.
