A RESOLUTION of the
Council of the City of
Washington, regarding
establishment of the Council
Committee.

WHEREAS, pursuant to City Council Resolution 1094
concerning Council procedures, the President of the Council
establishes standing committees and their membership subject to an
overriding vote of a majority of the councilmembers; and
WHEREAS, the Council President has determined that it
would be in the best interest of the City government to establish
a standing budget committee to oversee the budgetary affairs of the
City; and
WHEREAS, the Council President desires to have the
confirmation of the City Council as to the establishment of a
standing Budget Committee; NOW THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. There is hereby established a standing
committee of the City Council to be known as the Budget Committee,
which committee shall consist of a chairperson and two regular
members who shall be chosen by the Council President.
Section 2. All proposed ordinances, resolutions, and
other matters relating to the city's budget may be referred to the
Budget Committee, as directed by the Council President, for
consideration prior to Council action.
Section 3. All actions of the Budget Committee shall be
subject to the procedures set out in Resolution 1094 and other
directives as may be made by the Council President.
Section 4. The Budget Committee may be dissolved at any
time the Council President determines that it is no longer of
benefit to the City Council in its work on City budget matters.
