The regular meeting of the Civil Service Commission was held
on Oct . 30, 1975. Present were Hal Cline, Ken Yahn; Chief
Foster, Chief McQuery, Deputy Chief r`reelove, Asst . Chief
Here and Capt . Fronsdahl . Also present was Gary Jackson.
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved.
A motion was made and passed to deny Robert Jennings request ,
to transfer to the police department from the fire department ,
based upon the Commission Rules and Regulations dealing with
examinations and probation for the departments. A motion
was made and passed to delete the sentence, "Transfers of
employees from one department or organization unit to another
department or organizational unit may be made with the approval
of the chiefs concerned and the Commission" , from Rule XIV,
Section 1 , Transfers, on page 26.
A letter was received from Gary Jackson, an applicant for the
police department , requesting that he be allowed to take the
physical agility part of the exam since he was not able to
be there on the day it was held. A motion was made and passed
to deny his request . Since he was present , no letter is
required.
A motion was made and passed to approve the Eligibility List
for Law Enforcement Officer as presented by the Secretary and
Chief Examiner.

The secretary and chief examiner was directed to proceed with
an entrance examination for Firefighter. A motion was made and
passed to set the weights at 50% for Written and 50% for the
Oral Interview, with 70% minimum passing score and the top 40
scorers, if that many over 700, allowed to take the physical
agility which will be pass/fail only.
A special meeting will be called for 8 A.M. during the week of
Nov. 3rd, if all the commissioners are able to attend, to meet
with the new member of the commission, elect a new chairman,
and discuss the duties of the commission.
The next regular meeting will be Thursday, Nov 20. at 8 A.M.
at the Fire Station.
