HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Committees - Civil Services Commission - 08/28/1975 August 28, 1975 The regular meeting of the Kent Civil Service Commission was held on August 28, 1975. Present were Warren Bell , Hal Cline, Deputy Chief Freelove, Chief Mc Query, Asst . Chief Berg and Capt . Fronsdahl. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved. A motion was made and approved to certify the Eligibility List for Police Clerk as follows ; T. Doherty C. Jacoby C. Brownell F. Fletcher H. Dilley J. Lind S. Anderson S. Schrader P. Feverborn B. Davis A motion was made and approved to set the following standards for the Law Enforcement Officer examination. Written test 50 &, and Oral Interview 50%. Minimum passing score will be 70% with the top 20 scorers to proceed to the Physical Agility, which will be Pass/Fail only. A letter was read from Calvin Gene Ralph requesting a waiver of the maximum age requirement for entrance Law Enforcement Officer. After discussion, a motion was made and approved to deny his request for a waiver for the reason that the Commission has a policy of staying within the requirements as stated in the Rules and Regulations. The secretary is to advise Mr. Ralph of the decision. The secretary and chief examiner advised the commission that copies of written tests will need to be rented for both entrance Law Enforcement Officer and entrance Firefighter. A motion was made and approved to direct the secretary and chief examiner to order the necessary copies of the entrance tests, in proportion to the number of applicants, from the IPMA. The commission budget for 1976 was discussed and the decision was made that the secretary and chief examiner will meet with Hal Cline to formulate a preliminary budget, to be reviewed and approved by the commission members, before the budget is presented to the City administration. The next regular meeting will be held on Thursday, Sept. 25, at 8 A.M. at the Fire Station. Meeting adjourned. "Sec ary Approved Oman
