Gowe Street Item Description 1. Call to order: Chair Olmsted called the meeting to order at 5:34 p.m. 2. Roll Call - Excused: French, Kristenson, McLaughlin 3. Changes to the Agenda 9.C. 50t" Anniversary 9.D. Colleen Maloney's last meeting 4. January Minutes - Ohno made a motion to accept the minutes as written. Spreitzer seconded and the motion carried unanimously. 5. Treasurer's Report - November month end reports were distributed for review. 6. Guest Presentation: Chris Jordan (introduced by Ashley Long, Sound Transit Art) Sound Transit Federal Way Link Extension Star Lake Station Plaza - design concept 7. Performing Arts Committee A. Spotlight Series - 2024-2025 updates -Jazz at Lincoln Center on 1/24: 244 attended -International Guitar Night on 2/7: 356 attended/sold-out, 50 students at outreach -Karla Bonoff on 3/14: 345 tickets sold, ushers: Julianna Hind, Sandi Westman, Beth Carter (Parks Commission) The public may submit written public comments that relate to an agenda item by emailing: cityclerk@kentwa.gov by 3:30 p.m. on the day of this commission meeting. After 3:30 p.m., written public comments may only be submitted in person by presenting them to the commission secretary at the public meeting. Written public comments that do not relate to a committee agenda item are not permitted. Written public comments are not read into the record. Unless otherwise noted, the Arts Commission meets at 5:30 p.m. the 2nd Wednesday of each month at the Centennial Building, 1st floor conference rooms, 400 W. Gowe St., Kent, WA 98032. Visual Arts/Acquisitions Committee A. City Art Plan - 2025-2029 - Committee of the Whole approved the plan at their February 4 meeting. Next step is Council Consent Calendar on Feb. 18. B. Gallery -Charlene Burley - January 7 through February 27 -Student Art Exhibit - March 10 - 21 C. Summer Art Exhibit - Application is open with a March 12 deadline, 39 applications received so far. 9. General updates/other business A. Arts, Culture Heritage and Science Week February 7 - Christy Caravaglio reported on meetings with legislators. B. LAA 4Culture funding update/discussion 10. Next Meeting: March 12, 5:30 p.m. 11.
