Arts Commission Minutes
Commissioners: Chair Countess Stekovic, Vice Chair Ryan Olmsted, Treasurer Richard Nederlander,
Christy Caravaglio, Kerry French, Renee Hazen, Julianna Hind, Campbell Kristenson, Colleen Maloney, Bryan

Item Description
1. Call to order - Chair Stekovic called the meeting to order at 5:34 p.m.
2. Roll Call - Absent: Caravaglio
3. Changes to the Agenda: None
4. December Minutes - Olmsted made a motion to approve the December minutes as
written. French seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
5. Treasurer's Report - November Month End reports were distributed for review.
6. Performing Arts Committee
A. 2023-2024 Spotlight Series - 232 attended The Queen's Cartoonists' holiday
show on Thursday, December 14. Ticket sales are strong for upcoming shows.
Yesterday & Today on Friday, January 26 is 84% sold (303 tickets) and
International Guitar Night on Friday, February 2 is 86% sold (310 tickets).
B. 2024-2025 Booking - Four shows are confirmed, one more officer is pending,
and several more are on the short list.
7. Visual Arts/Acquisitions Committee
A. Updates
-East Hill North - January 31 deadline for artists to apply. As of today, 11 have
applied.
B. 2024-2028 City Art Plan
-Review. Official approval in February.

cityclerk@kentwa.gov by 3:30 p.m. on the day of this commission meeting. After 3:30 p.m.,
written public comments may only be submitted in person by presenting them to the commission
secretary at the public meeting. Written public comments that do not relate to a committee agenda

Unless otherwise noted, the Arts Commission meets at 5:30 p.m. the 2nd Wednesday of each
month at the Centennial Building, 1st floor conference rooms, 400 W. Gowe St., Kent, WA 98032.

A. Artist Trust Programming/Collaboration - Discussion about potential to host
educational sessions for local artists in Kent.
