Mitchell, Commissioner; and Stephanie King, Acting Secretary/Chief Examiner
Agenda:
1. Call to Order
Chair Thomas called the meeting to order at 5:30 PM.
2. Roll Call
All Commissioners were in attendance and all attended remotely. Commissioner
Weissich was having technical difficulties at the beginning of the meeting but
was able to join later.
3. Changes to the Agenda
There were no changes to the agenda.
4. Approval of the Minutes
Chair Thomas made a motion to approve the minutes from the March 27,
2024, regular Commission meeting and the minutes from the May 9, 2024,
special Commission meeting. Motion was moved and seconded by
Commissioner Mitchell; motion passed 2-0, as Commissioner Weissich was
not in the meeting at this time.
5. Consent Items to Accept
Consent Items to Accept YES Chair 1
A. Memo dated March 21, 2024, from Chief Padilla notifying the Commission
that Cmdr. Scott Rankin separated from the City effective March 31, 2024.
B. Letter dated March 28, 2024, from D/C Stansfield to Ofr. Adrian Rojas
notifying him that he successfully completed the probationary period and is
appointed to regular employment status effective April 3, 2024.
C. Memo dated April 4, 2024, from Chief Padilla accepting the resignation of
Oziel-Ivan Arjona effective April 4, 2024.
D. Memo dated April 5, 2024, from Chief Padilla accepting the resignation of
Anthony Blackwell effective March 20, 2024.

E. Letter dated April 9, 2024, from Chief Padilla to Administrative Asst. Kristy
Rorie notifying her that she successfully completed the probationary period
and is appointed to regular employment status effective April 17, 2024.
F. Letter dated April 24, 2024, from Chief Padilla to Ofr. Christina Allen
notifying her she successfully completed the probationary period and is
appointed to regular employment status effective April 24, 2024.
G. Memo dated May 1, 2024, from Chief Padilla announcing the promotion of
Kenny Clay to the rank of Sergeant effective May 1, 2024.
H. Letter dated May 7, 2024, from Chief Padilla to Administrative Asst. Carly
Manning notifying her that she successfully completed the probationary
period and is appointed to regular employment status effective May 16,
2024.
I. Memo dated May 15, 2024, from Chief Padilla accepting the resignation of
Administrative Assistant Jalene King effective May 2, 2024.
J. Memo dated March 22, 2024, from Acting Chief Examiner Stephanie King
detailing the eligibility list removals through March 22, 2024.
There being no questions, Chair Thomas made a motion to accept items A-3.
Commissioner Mitchell seconded the motion; motion passed 2-0.
6. Items to Approve
A. Continuous testing eligibility list for Entry Level Corrections Officer that was
established on May 13, 2024.
B. Continuous testing eligibility list for Entry Level Police Officer that was
established on May 13, 2024.
C. Continuous testing eligibility list for Lateral/Experienced Police Officer that
was established on May 14, 2024.
D. Eligibility List for Records Specialist that was established on May 14, 2024.
E. Eligibility List for Civil Service Chief Examiner/HR Analyst
There being no questions, Commissioner Mitchell made a motion to approve
items A-E. Chair Thomas seconded the motion; motion passed 3-0.
7. Action Items
A. Memo dated April 17, 2024, from Chief Examiner requesting a six-month
extension of the Corrections Sergeant eligibility list.
Commissioner Mitchell made the following motion: "I make a motion to
approve a six-month extension of the Corrections Sergeant eligibility list."
Chair Thomas seconded the motion; motion passed 3-0.

B. Memo dated May 22, 2024, from Acting Chief Examiner requesting authorization
to offer Chief Civil Service Examiner/HR Analyst position to candidate Pearlina
Chhaysymeexo.
Commissioner Mitchell made the following motion: "I move to authorize
offering the position of Chief Civil Service Examiner/HR Analyst to Pearlina
Chhaysymeexo as set forth in rule 4.01." Chair Thomas seconded the
motion; motion passed 3-0.

9. Adjournment
There being nothing further, Chair Thomas made a motion to adjourn.
Commissioner Mitchell seconded the motion; motion passed 3-0. Meeting was
adjourned at 5:37 PM.
