Nielsen, referred to as the"Hearings Officer"and appointed by the Chief of Police of Kent, Washington (Rafael Padilla), serving as Chair of the VNET Board, per RCW 69.50.505 Drug-Forfeiture Hearings. The terms of this Agreement shall only apply when VNET requests hearing services from the Hearings Officer. Compensation: The Hearings Officer will be paid $150.00 per hour including travel time and after the first hour in 1/10-Hour increments for each hearing. Minimum compensation for a hearing shall be $150.00 regardless of the length of the hearing. VNET Responsibilities: VNET shall, Furnish the Hearings Officer with services to conduct appropriate hearings; and Timely provide schedules, documents and other memoranda to the Hearings Officer such that he can render timely decisions. Hearings Officer Responsibilities: The Hearings Officers shall, Perform in an ethical and professional manner the tasks required of him; and Perform the services as an independent contractor.
