on each regular council meeting day, except when a regular or special council meeting occurs at or
before 5:30 p.m.

each councilmember and admitted into the record, but will not be read aloud at the meeting. In order to
be admitted into the record,written comments shall be submitted not less than three hours prior to the start

written comments will be handed to the City Clerk and will be admitted into the record of the Workshop

SUBJECT: 2044 Comprehensive Plan Project Update
SUMMARY: At the upcoming meeting staff will provide an update on recent work
for the 2044 Comprehensive Plan project, including:
The Comprehensive Plan Community Advisory Group (CAG) Meeting #2;
Updated Comprehensive Plan Vision and Guiding Principles;
Draft Economic Development Element Goals; and
Round 2 Community Engagement.
The project website <https://engaae.kentwa.gov/futurekent> includes lots of
useful information, including the Community Advisory Group charter and meeting
notes, a list of upcoming outreach events, and other project updates.
Remember to Save the Date! Round 2 Community Engagement will kick off on
Tuesday, May 28 at City Council Chambers with a special Joint Council, Boards,
and Commissions meeting. We are inviting all Kent Boards and Commissions
members to join City Council to participate in a special meeting. The meeting is on
Tuesday, May 28, 2024, in City Council Chambers. Join us at 5:30 PM for food, the
meeting will start promptly at 6 PM. For more details, please check your email and
remember to register by Thursday, May 23.
Staff will ask Council to provide input and feedback on the following
questions•
What are your initial thoughts on the changes to the Economic Development
goals? Is anything missing?
What actions are you able to help with for Round 2 Community Engagement?
Are there groups you can reach out to?
