Agenda:
1. Call to Order
Commissioner Weissich called the meeting to order at 5:34 PM.
2. Roll Call
Commissioner Mitchell and Commissioner Weissich were in attendance.
Commissioner Mitchell attended remotely. Chair Thomas had connection issues
and was unable to attend.
3. Changes to the Agenda
There were no changes to the agenda.
4. Action Items
A. Memo from Holly Harvey-Smith RE: Revision to Request to Test Memo for the
HR Recruitment Manager/Chief Examiner position.
Human Resources Director Holly Harvey-Smith explained that the vacancy
recently posted for the position had not received as many applications as
expected. In an effort to increase the candidate pool, it was recommended
that the written test be removed from the recruitment process. This would
allow for greater focus on the in-person interviews, which would consist of
a broad cross-section of leadership on the panel.
Commissioner Weissich asked if this proposed change had been approved
by Legal and HR Director Harvey-Smith confirmed that it had. Harvey-
Smith went on to explain that candidates would be made aware of the
change in the process through a revision in the job posting and that the
top five (5) candidates would be invited to the initial interviews.
Commissioner Weissich asked if the Commission would have the choice of
five (5). HR Director Holly Harvey-Smith explained that candidates would
have to score at least 70% on the interviews to move forward in the
process. The Commission would have an opportunity to conduct a second

interview with the passing candidates. Commissioner Weissich expressed
that he would like to have unified results and a recommendation to the
Commission of the top three (3) candidates for ease of scheduling.
Commissioner Weissich then made the following motion: "I make a motion
to revise the competitive testing process for the Commission's
Secretary/Chief Examiner as recommended by the HR Director and direct
that the job posting be updated to reflect the same." Commissioner
Mitchell seconded the motion; motion passed 2-0.
9. Adjournment
There being nothing further, Commissioner Weissich made a motion to adjourn.
Commissioner Mitchell seconded the motion; motion passed 2-0. Meeting was
adjourned at 5:51 PM.
