Attending: Jeff Piecewicz- Chair; Pauline Thomas, Commissioner; Callius
Zaratkiewicz, Commissioner- absent; Natalie Winecka, Secretary/Chief Examiner
Agenda:
1. Call to Order
Chair Piecewicz called the meeting to order at 5:30 PM.
2. Roll Call
Chair Piecewicz and Commissioner Thomas were present, Commissioner
Zaratkiewicz was absent.
3. Changes to the Agenda
There were no changes to the agenda.
4. Approval of the Minutes
Chair Piecewicz made a motion to approve the minutes from the July
28, 2021 Civil Service Commission meeting. Motion was moved and
seconded by Commissioner Thomas; motion passed 2-0.
S. Consent Items to Accept
A. Memo dated July 14, 2021 from Chief Padilla notifying the Commission that Cory
Eaton is promoted to the rank of Probationary Sergeant effective July 15, 2021.
B. Letter dated July 15, 2021 from Chief Padilla congratulating Daffyd Tyler on being
hired as a Probationary Corrections Officer effective August 2, 2021.
C. Letter dated August 10, 2021 from Ofr. Adam Tanvas tendering his resignation
effective immediately.
D. Memo dated August 10, 2021 from Chief Padilla accepting the resignation of
Adam Tanvas effective August 10, 2021.
E. Letter dated August 16, 2021 from Ofr. Tyler Birkhofer tendering his resignation
effective August 30, 2021.
F. Memo dated August 17, 2021 from Chief Padilla accepting the resignation of Tyler
Birkhofer effective August 30, 2021.
G. Email dated August 17, 2021 from Ofr. Matthew Rausch tendering his resignation
effective September 3, 2021.

H. Memo dated August 17, 2021 from Chief Padilla accepting the resignation of
Matthew Rausch effective September 3, 2021.
I. Memo dated August 23, 2021 from Chief Examiner Winecka with eligibility list
removals through August 23, 2021.
There being no questions, Chair Piecewicz made a motion to accept consent
items A-I. Commissioner Thomas seconded the motion; motion passed 2-0.
6. Items to Approve
A. Continuous Testing Eligibility List for Entry Level Corrections Officer that was
established on July 29, 2021.
There being no questions, Commissioner Thomas made a motion to approve
item A. Chair Piecewicz seconded the motion; motion passed 2-0.
7. Action Items
A. Memo dated August 24, 2021 from A/C Jarod Kasner requesting permission to
test for the rank of Commander and that the following process and weights be
applied:
- Work Performance Rating (WPR)- final weight of 50%
- The assessment center (CSA) will consist of four exercises and will have a
final weight of 50%. A cumulative passing score of 65% is required to be
placed on the list.
Commissioner Thomas made the following motion: '"I make a motion to
approve the request to test for the rank of Commander with the process
and weights as stated."; Chair Piecewicz seconded the motion; motion
passed 2-0.

There being nothing further, Chair Piecewicz made a motion to adjourn.
Commissioner Thomas seconded the motion; motion passed 2-0. Meeting was
adjourned at 5:33 PM.
