ABSENT: Les Thomas- Councilmember.
3. Changes to the Agenda
Fire Representative Bill Johnson proposed to add a discussion about Ordinance
4406 from July 2021 to the agenda. No vote was needed.
Fire Representative Bill Johnson asked for clarification if the City ordinance
supersedes the State regarding the limit to the terms the members can serve on
the Board. Ana-Maria will reach out to Tammy White, City attorney, for additional
clarification if the ordinance pertains to the Disability Board. Another question was
if a Board member can live outside of the City of Kent limits. Police representative,
Bob Holt, pointed that the Disability Board is not an appointed Board, two
councilmembers are appointed by the Mayor and the member at large is appointed
by the other Board members. The Police and Fire Board members are not
appointed.
4. Approval of Minutes
Councilmember Toni Troutner moved to approve the April 13,2023, meeting
minutes; Police Representative, Bob Holt seconded. The motion passed
unanimously.
S. Board Members Election Updates
Ana-Maria informed the Board that one member at large application was received.
Two nominations were received for the Police representative position, both for the
same name.
S. LEOFF 1 Member Update
Secretary Ana-Maria Nemes informed the Board members that a Fire Member
passed away in September.
