PRESENTATIONS 1 King County Sexual Assault Resource Mayor Ralph 15 MIN. Center Mayor Ralph introduced Chief Administrative Officer of the King County Sexual Assault Resource Center, Kate Krug and board member Dennis Higgins. Krug advised KCSARC is an independent nonprofit serving survivors and their families throughout King County and engage communities in building a world without sexual assault. Krug welcomed everyone to attend the BE LOUD Breakfast on March 13, 2024 at 8 a.m. at the Sheraton Grand Seattle. Mayor & Council President Boyce expressed appreciation of the staff and the program. 2 Police Contact Application Eric Doherty 15 MIN. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Police Officer Doherty, presented information on the new Police Contact application that officers are utilizing to collect data relating to proactive contacts in the community. Doherty designed the City's customized application that every officer that has enforcement capabilities has installed on their City cell phone. Doherty walked the Council through each step of the process to enter data and advised reports can be run from the program and that the program integrates with other GIS maps. Additionally, the program can be expanded for future needs. Doherty answered questions about the frequency the application is currently being utilized and the plan to increase usage. 3 Green River Update Mike Mactutis 30 MIN. Environmental Engineering Manager, Mike Mactutis presented the annual update on the Green River. Mactutis provided an overview of the Green River watershed that included its geography and clean water programs. Mactutis provided information on the Howard Hanson Dam's operation and the Downstream Fish Passage Project. The King County Flood Control District is a partner on levee improvements and also provides grant funding to the City for fish habitat projects. The City also works closely with the KCFCD on flood management. Mactutis reviewed the 2024 budget and forecast major projects that affect Kent's flood risk and also reviewed the draft actual and forecasted flood district expenditures by type to convey the rapid decrease in grant funds that will be available up to 2024 and beyond. Mactutis talked about the Lower Green River Corridor Flood Hazard Management Plan that included the recent draft of the Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement and also talked about next steps through the board adoption and implementation. Mactutis celebrated the completion of the Lower Russell Levee project and Downey Farmstead Side Channel project in addition to talking about the progress on the Signature Point Levee, Milwaukee 2 Levee, McCoy Levee, and Desimone Levee.
