2. Driving Tour of the City of Kent
The LUPB participated in a driving tour of Kent's West Hill, led by Long Range
Planning Manager Kristen Holdsworth. The tour started at City Hall and drove
through and discussed the City's Multi Family Tax Exemption (MFTE) program
and sites utilizing this incentive. Then, they headed west along Meeker to
view the new design standards for the corridor. The tour headed west on
Reith Road to the future Star Lake station. After driving around the future
Star Lake Station, the tour drove north on Pacific Highway. Finally, the tour
approached the future Kent-Des Moines Station before heading down Military
to Reith Road, Meeker St, and returning to City Hall. Topics of discussion
included general information about transit-oriented development (TOD),
improvements around Sound Transit light rail stations, Meet Me on Meeker
implementation, the Downtown and Midway Subarea Plans, and general
Comprehensive Plan updates.
