Amendment to RCO Project Agreement

The Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) has received a request from King County to transfer its interest
in the above-referenced project and property to the City of Kent, and
The City of Kent has agreed to assume all of the King County's rights and responsibilities under this
agreement and to manage the property in perpetuity as a public recreation area
The above-referenced project agreement is amended as follows.
1. The RCO agrees to release King County of all responsibilities as sponsor under this agreement and the
RCO and the King County hereby transfer all project rights and responsibilities for the Lake Meridian
Park to the City of Kent.
2. The City of Kent by signing this amendment agrees(1)to accept the transfer of the project
agreement for the Lake Meridian Park from King County and-the RCO, and (2) to fully comply with
project agreement in the place of King County, including manage the subject property under the
terms and conditions contained in the project agreement for the above-referenced project
agreement
Except for this substation of sponsor, in all other respects,the above-referenced agreement,to which this is
an amendment, shall remain in full force and effect.

Dear Mr Watling.
Congratulations on your decision to accept responsibility for the Lake Meridian Park grant As the
administrator of this grant, I want to remind you of some of the responsibilities that come with the
funding and give you resources to help you succeed with those responsibilities
Enclosed is a copy of the grant contract and the project boundary map You should be aware that
this grant comes with long-term responsibilities
• Land purchased with this grant must be used for the broad purposes of the grant forever.
• Structures or facilities purchased or built with this grant must be used for their intended
purposes for their reasonably useful life In addition, the land underneath those projects must
remain in similar use forever
• Land, structures, and facilities that were purchased with grants may not, without prior
approval, be converted to uses other than that for which the grants originally were approved
If they are converted, you must replace the land, structures, and facilities with those of equal
current market value and uses similar to what was intended by the grant.
• Areas restored must be maintained until the grant-supported natural processes function
without human intervention In addition, the land underneath those projects must remain in
similar use forever

Brief Explanation of Document:
This is an amendment to an RCO grant agreement, requested by King County, to
transfer the sponsorship for Lake Meridian Park boat launch to the City of Kent. The
amendment was requested by the County in association with the transfer of ownership
of the boat launch. Attached is the original grant agreement which is being amended.
