PRESENTATIONS 1 INFO ONLY: Information Technology IT Staff 30 MIN. Updates Information Technology Director, Mike Carrington provided an overview of the agenda for the Information Technology Update. Carrington reviewed number of service requests by year and survey results from 2020 - current. Project Management, Project Manager, Brian Rambonga provided an overview of completed initiatives and upcoming projects for each of the City departments. Security and Infrastructure manager, James Endicott provided a detailed overview of Zero trust Architecture - what it is, why we are implementing it, where it is going to be implemented, when it will be implemented and how it will be implemented. 2 Sound Transit Federal Way Link Matt Gilbert 30 MIN. Extension and Downtown Garage Derek Hawkes Updates Mark Madfai Deputy Director of Economic and Community Development, Matt Gilbert presented an update on the Sound Transit Downtown Parking Garage. The contractor selection is in process and Kent's Economic and Community Development Department is part of the selection team. Staff are working to answer pre-development questions and the contractor will use the City's permitting process for a Conditional Use Permit and construction permits. City regulations address most anticipated impacts. Process follows strict procurement guidelines and responses include design, schedules, cost breakdown, technical challenges, team members, etc. The selection process is managed by Sound Transit RFP published in February 2023 Submittal Deadline: May 2023 Notice to Proceed October 2023 Next Steps: October 2023: Sound Transit to issue the Notice to Proceed (1 year ago, this date was March 2023) Permitting process will follow Groundbreaking is TBD, possibly mid-2024. Anticipated project completion has moved from 2025 to 2027. Engineering Supervisor, Derek Hawkes presented an update on the Federal Way Link Extension. An overview of Federal Way Link Extension Alignment was provided for: Segment 1 and Segment 2 (Star Lake) Kent - Des Moines Station and Garage Utility work Concrete roadway paving is mostly complete on 30th Avenue Structure B guideway deck and track complete to Midway Station work is progressing Garage architectural cladding is install3ed.
