Subject: Additional Funds and Time for Kent Food Hub Project
In September 2021, the city of Kent agreed to provide financial assistance to King
County as they undertook an effort to address problems in the local commercial food
system that were stymying small to medium sized food entrepreneurs in their efforts
to expand. The Food Hub project seeks to address the missing middle in commercial
facilities, caused by the expenses of real estate, commercial grade equipment and
storage. These challenges are particularly acute for entrepreneurs and organizations
from BIPOC communities, who often lack the startup capital to access existing facilities
or develop this infrastructure for themselves.
FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION AND TERM: By execution of this updated agreement,
the City of Kent agrees to provide an additional $15,000.00 to King County for
additional consultant work and extend the term of the agreement to December 31,
2023. All other terms to remain the same.
Upon execution of this Agreement, the County will invoice the City of Kent for its
respective share of the additional consultant work. The City will have 30 days to pay
the County addressed to:
