The meeting was called to order at 3:05 p.m.

3. Approval of March 16, 2023 Minutes
Commission Chair, Allen-Carston motioned to approve the minutes from the March
16, 2023.
Commissioner Stolpp MOVED, and Commissioner Guy SECONDED the motion.
Motion PASSED 5-0.
4. Crisis Care Center Levy - Presentation
4. CCC levy - Senior Planner, Lori Guilfoyle, presented on the Crisis Care Center
Levy. The plan will create a countywide network of five crisis care centers, restore
the number of residential treatment beds in the region, and invest in the
recruitment and retention of the community behavioral health workforce. Approved
by the King County Council in February, the levy now goes to the voters on April
25.
S. Co-Responder Program - Presentation
Sargent Andy Kelso presented on the co-responder program partnership through the
CARES program, a part of Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority. Three units staffed

by registered nurses and social workers respond to behavior health, mental health,
and social service calls originating from first responders.
6. Population Specific Research
No update.
7. Updates
• Juneteenth event to be held at the Kent YMCA, June 17t", 2023. Vendors, food,
and entertainment is being planned. There is no charge to
vendors/participants. Save the Date flyer coming soon.
• Mother Africa event held Grand Opening and International Women's Day event.
Council Member Michaud attended and took a tour of the agency.
• West African Community Counsel: No new recommendation currently. Meeting
scheduled for next week.

Commission Chair, Allen-Carston, adjourned the meeting at 4:35 p.m.
