Jen Treese moved that the minutes by approved
as written. Dan Cox seconded and the motion
carried unanimously.
5. Treasurers Report NO Treasurer Chandra 3
September report filed.
6. Performing Arts Committee NO Staff Billerbeck 10
a) Spotlight Series
-Performance Report: The Kingston Trio, 10/2.
Very successful season kick off - sold out show
with 465+ in attendance.
-Upcoming Performance: Kenny Endo, 10/16.
-Volunteers: Need one or two ushers
-Sales: Currently ticket sales are at 145
-Outreach: Kenny Endo will conduct a
lecture/demonstration assembly for
approximately 200 music and drama students at
KMHS on Friday, October 16 at 8 a.m.
b) 2016-2017 Booking: Committee meets after
conclusion of full Commission meeting.

7. Visual Arts/Acquisitions Committee NO Staff Billerbeck 10
a) Centennial Center Gallery
-Sept./Oct. Proebstel/Siege show
-Nov./Dec. show - Randi Ganulin & Jim Matthew
opens in early November.
b) Portable collection rotation
Joel Lee of Art Wrangler has been rotating the
collection throughout city buildings.
c) 2015-2019 City Art Plan
-Kent Arts DIY - Project kick off meeting was
held on Thursday, October 8. Arts
Commissioner Susan Machler attended, along
with Ronda Billerbeck and city staff from the IT
Department and Multimedia. A first design
review is scheduled at Empirical's offices in
Portland on November 3. Billerbeck, Dan Cox,
and Susan Machler plan to attend.
-Meeker Street Underpass - Update on
fundraising from Economic Development
Department is that $13,000 has been raised
with an additional $10,000 likely. Staff obtained
WSDOT public art guidelines.
8. 4011 Anniversary Celebration at 10/20 City NO Chair Smith 10
Council Meeting
Mayor Cooke will proclaim October as National
Arts and Humanities Month, as well as Kent Arts
Commission's 401" Anniversary Month.
Commissioners are encouraged to attend the
council meeting.
9. Commissioner Vacancy NO Chair Smith 1
Staff has been contacted by two interested
potential applicants.
10. Community Arts Support Program NO Chair Smith 5
Four applications have been received. Staff will
email the applications for review so the
Commission can determine and vote on funding
amounts at the November Commission meeting.
