Guest: Kent Downtown Partnership NO Suzanne 10 KDP Design Committee representative, Cameron Suzanne Cameron presented KDP's idea to install metal dragonfly sculptures by local artist Greg Bartol on downtown light poles. Commission suggested KDP contact Public Works to find out about permission to install on light poles. 7. Performing Arts Committee NO Staff Billerbeck 5 A. Spotlight Series Performance Report: Kenny Endo, 10/16 197 attended public performance, 200+ K-M students at lecture/demo Upcoming Performances: The Second City, 12/3 Magical Strings, 12/6 -Volunteers: Suzanne Smith + 1 will serve as ushers for both -Sales: 129 for Second City, 95 for Magical Strings Unless otherwise noted, the Arts Commission meets at 5:30 p.m. the 2nd Tuesday of each month at Centennial Center, Conference Room 401, 400 West Gowe St., Kent, WA 98032. Visual Arts/Acquisitions Committee NO Staff Billerbeck 5 A. Centennial Center Gallery Nov./Dec. Matthew/Ganulin show 11/19 reception, 4:00-7:00 pm (3 d Thurs. art walk) B. 2015-2019 City Art Plan Kent Arts DIY update: Committee traveled to Empirical UX's Portland offices on 11/3 for a first design review. Meeker Street underpass: No update C. 2016-2020 City Art Plan Development will begin in early 2016 9.5 Give Me Culture Grant application YES Staff Billerbeck 5 India USA Magazine - $1,000 request for funding toward publishing a special "city" issue. Commissioners discussed and agreed the application was not a good fit for the program. No quorum. Recommendation to not fund the application will be forwarded to the full Commission with voting taking place via email. 9. Community Arts Support Program -2016 YES Staff Billerbeck 10 Application discussion, funding recommendations Committee of the whole developed funding recommendations for the full Commission to consider in December. (No quorum) 10. 40th Anniversary at 10/20 City Council Meeting NO Chair Smith 3 Report 11.
