The Lions did not approve funding, so Economic Development staff plans to approach other service clubs, as well as businesses in the vicinity of the underpass. Arts Commissioners agreed are still interested in the project, but would like to wait on allocating a final budget amount to see if other community interest generates additional funding. 3. On-going maintenance Updates No Joel Lee of Art Wrangler is currently working on repainting Michael Whiting's sculptures at Arbor Heights 360 Skate Park. 4. Potential "Stop Logs" project No Parks Planning and Development staff approached Arts Commission staff about a potential project along the Green River Levee. Flood regulations require "stop logs" to be present at Van Doren's Landing. Instead of constructing an expensive underground vault to store the stop logs, there is interest in engaging a public artist to create a visual treatment for the logs so they can sit out in racks and serve as public art. Public Works has a budget of approximately $40,000 so no City Art program money will likely be required. Staff will continue to update Commissioners as the project progresses.
