Tonight: We reviewed the Transit Center to Jason Ave via Pioneer, State, McMillan.and
Temperance Street. All agreed that it looks like a great route. We may call it the Mill Creek
Connector. It was noted that we should talk to the Mill Creek Neighborhood Council and see if they
will support the route and improving the footbridge over Mill Creek. We talked about using
Sharrows and/or bike lanes along the route.Mark will investigate ROW/route along McMillian.
Future discussion: Jason Ave to 116th Ave SE (between James and SR-516)In work. Mel.
5. Formally submit these and follow up with Public Works—Mel.
Two documents, one for SE 248th St and one for 1161h Ave SE, were given to Public Works. They
contained information on the Shoulders/Bike Lanes/Sidewalks. What action is needed to make
these streets bicycle friendly?
Can the work be scheduled?
6. Work on supporting a Complete Streets ordinance for Kent. (where, when, how, who?)
A companion item is the Comprehensive Plan update (to be done mid-year 2015).
Mel to find article on cities that adopted Complete Streets last year and distribute it.
Mel find out if there is a "markup"revision to the city's comprehensive plan and distribute
a copy of it. Mel E-mailed the document I received on
