Lodging Tax Advisory Committee
June 5, 2014, 4:00 p.m.
Centennial North & South
Committee Members Present: John Casey, David Kwok, Andrew
Hutchinson, Bill Boyce
Others Present: Ryan Hart, Michelle Wilmot, Julie Pulliam, Ben Wolters
Chair Bill Boyce called the meeting to order at 4:05 pm.
Introductions were done.
Approval of Minutes: Chair asked for any corrections or additions to the
minutes, John Casey moved to approve the minutes from the meeting of
May 22, 2014, David Kwok seconded, motion passes.
Tourism Website: Chair introduced the revised landing pages. Andrew
Hutchinson suggested a sport team look. A discussion took place on
possible hot events to scroll through on the home page. Michelle took notes
to discuss with Mary Kae during the next review and update of the pages.
Committee discussed the tab titles on the top
Discover, Explore, Plan, Stay, Events, Culture; Committee agreed upon the
tab titles
The next topic for review would be the names of the 6 personality styles of
the two things to experience in Kent.
The names are;
• Jet Setter
• Night Owl
• Entertainer
• Outdoor Enthusiast
• Thrill Seeker
The Committee discussed in length and they can up with these changes;
• Jet Setter changes to Family Fun Seeker
• Night Owl changes to Sports Nut
• Foodie is ok
• Entertainer is ok
• Outdoor Enthusiast is ok
• Thrill Seeker is deleted
Mary Kae asked who are the representatives for each of the personality
styles? We need to have people picked out. The Committee did not come to
and conclusion so it was directed by Chair Bill Boyce to Bring back to the

next meeting on June 19t", who are some of the people in Kent or not that
you would like to use for the agreed upon personality styles, Family Fun
Seeker, Sports Nut, Foodie, Entertainer and Outdoor Enthusiast.
Internal pages were discussed fonts and colors are look good and don't need
to be changed. More discussion with Mary Kae individually is needed.
Genesis Budget Proposal: Committee decided the first step is to get the
website up and running. Committee agreed to moving forward with the SEO
work July thru December and Website Changes @500/mo. July thru
December. The video work, Google Ads, and TV ad are put on hold for now.
See attached break down.
At the next meeting Mary Kae will bring a cost break down.
Good of the order: Nothing
Assignments for the next meeting: Committee; who are the people you
want to be the personality styles, bring names to the next meeting.
Mary Kae will bring back to the Committee break down of what it will take to
get website up. Break down of each of the budget items to get the website
up.
Next regular meeting: August 21, 2014, 4:00 p.m.
(LTAC meeting on the third Thursday of every other month at 4:00 p.m.)
Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned by Chair Bill Boyce at 5:40 p.m.
