MINUTES for August 15, 2000
The regular meeting of the Lodging Tax Advisory committee was called to order at 3:10 p.m. by
chair, Rico Yingling.
Committee Members Present: Don Campbell, Carol Vass, Kathy Madison and Andy Wangstad.
Staff Present: Jacki Skaught and Cheryl Viseth
Guests: Barbara Ivanov, Kent Chamber of Commerce
Approval of Meeting Minutes for July 18, 2000: The minutes for the July 18,000, meeting were
approved with corrections as noted on the updated copy dated 9.18.00 attached.
Financial Report: May Miller was unable to attend, nothing new to report.
Update Washington State Visitors Guide—Jacki:
Purchase order#187354 in the amount of$5,046.55 (acct. #V29-19S-1324-4190)was faxed to Lisa
Schwarts on August 15. Materials due to them for print by November 10, 2000.
Kent Chamber of Commerce Proposal — Barbara lvanov:
Barbara handed out and walked the group through the Kent Lodging Associations Promotional
Campaign. The 2000 contract for service amount will be $64,000. Jacki wanted to make sure that
they consider what else they may want to spend their money on in the future. The committee voted
unanimously to accept the Kent Chamber of Commerce, Goals Strategies and Deliverable for the
Year 2000 proposal at a cost of $64,000. Rico will bring the proposal to the Operations Committee
on Tuesday, September 19
Action Items:Jacki and Barbara will work together to develop a contract between the City of Kent
and the Kent Chamber of Commerce for the Lodging Associations year 2000 deliverables.
Other-Jacki:
Jacki noted that Peter Jacobsen Productions are pursuing Washington State business for title and
major sponsorships of the LPGA Golf Tournament.
Next Meeting: To be held on Tuesday, September 26, at 2:30 p.m. With the following meeting to be
held on November 7, 2000 at 3:00 p.m.
