RE: PCMA Update
(1) Page total
Pre Event Marketing:
1. Link on the CVB site
2. Link on the PCMA site
3. Special Landing Page on SSVS
4. Hired ad agency to create our updated meeting planner guide,Video production, and
tradeshow booth
5. Meeting Planner Guide preloaded onto memory sticks which will be imprinted with our
logo and distributed to qualified meeting planners at PCMA conference in Room 601.
6. The Meeting Planner Guide will be uploaded to our website
7. Photo library project—from 50 photos to 738 high resolution images now
Airport Committee:
1. Airport Signage
2. Welcome Desk staffed by volunteers
a. There are 80 volunteer shifts left to fill at the airport welcome desk
b. Starbucks donated 3000 cups of coffee for the welcome desk
c. Meydenbauer donated 3000 bottled waters for the welcome desk
Site Inspection Committee:
1. Image presentation in Room 601 aka Meeting Planner Lodge
2. Educating meeting planners on who we are and what we can do
3. Educating Eastside and Downtown
4. Encouraging planners to take tours of our area/our flagship properties
Seattle Southside Associates: hoteliers and a few attractions have expressed interest in
volunteering for participating in PCMA whether it's donating their time, service, or product—or
consulting with me—we have participation from a total of 27 people in Tukwila, SeaTac, and
Kent supporting our efforts.
PCMA Additional efforts:
1. 1600 planners have registered as of last Friday. We're ahead of Philadelphia and
Toronto. They expect 3000 and hope for 3200 total.
2. We have more early arrivals than previous cities. PCMA had to increase their room
block to allow for the increase.
3. The CVB is spending$50,000 in signage downtown street banners
4. Window clings for restaurants and retail stores downtown around the convention center.
We'll receive 25 clings if we want to use them.
5. The Pre/Post Tours are going slowly and are behind of previous conferences. Only 3
people have signed up for the trip up to Whistler and 15 on the Waterfall tour. The
Winery tour sold out.
6. PCMA and the Bureau just did a splashy e-mail to stir up excitement it was themed in
Jimmy Bright's top 10 things to do in Seattle.
Post Event Activities: under development
1. Follow up letter to all delegates
2. I will use the tools we've created for PCMA in on going sales efforts
