Call to Order Acting Chair Zaratkiewicz called the meeting to order at 5:31 PM. 2. Roll Call All Commissioners were present. 3. Changes to the Agenda There were no changes to the agenda. 4. Approval of the Minutes Commissioner Zaratkiewicz made a motion to approve the minutes from the February 23, 2022 Civil Service Commission regularly scheduled meeting. Motion was moved and seconded by Commissioner Thomas; motion passed 3-0. S. Consent Items to Accept A. Letter dated February 22, 2022 from Chief Padilla to Keanu Hamilton congratulating him on being hired as a Probationary Lateral Police Officer effective March 1, 2022. B. Letter dated February 22, 2022 from Chief Padilla to Isaiah Munoz congratulating him on being hired as a Probationary Police Recruit Officer effective March 1, 2022. C. Letter dated February 24, 2022 from Chief Padilla to Gregory Dale congratulating him on being hired as a Probationary Police Recruit Officer effective March 1, 2022. D. Letter dated March 1, 2022 from Chief Padilla to Amber Ballentine congratulating her on being hired as a Probationary Police Evidence Custodian effective March 16, 2022. E. Letter dated March 3, 2022 from Chief Padilla to Jacob Pursley congratulating him on being hired as a Probationary Police Recruit Officer effective April 1, 2022. Trevor Wolcott tendering his resignation effective April 1, 2022. G. Memo dated March 14, 2022 from Chief Padilla accepting the resignation of Trevor Wolcott effective April 1, 2022. H. Memo dated March 15, 2022 from Chief Padilla notifying the Commission that Ofr. Joel Makings will be assigned as a Provisional Patrol Sergeant beginning April 22, 2022 for a period not to exceed four (4) months. I. Letter dated March 16, 2022 from Chief Padilla to Ofr. Sam Steiner notifying him that he successfully completed his probationary period and is appointed to regular employment status effective March 16, 2022. J. Memo dated March 17, 2022 from Chief Examiner Winecka with the eligibility list removals through March 17, 2022. There being no questions, Chair Piecewicz made a motion to accept consent items A-3. Commissioner Zaratkiewicz seconded the motion; motion passed 3-0. 6. Items to Approve A. Continuous Testing Eligibility List for Entry Level Police Officer that was established on March 11, 2022, 2022. There being no questions, Commissioner Thomas made a motion to approve item A. Chair Piecewicz seconded the motion; motion passed 3-0. 7. Action Items A. Memo dated February 24, 2022 from Chief Padilla requesting a six- month extension of the Sergeant eligibility list. Commissioner Thomas made the following motion: '"I make a motion to approve the request for the six-month extension of the Sergeant eligibility list." Chair Piecewicz seconded the motion; motion passed 3-0. B. Memo dated March 16, 2022 from Chief Padilla requesting to test for the position of Records Specialist and that the following process and weights be applied: Computer-based Assessment- 100% (70% passing score required) Background- Pass/Fail Polygraph- Pass/Fail Page 2 of 3 Civil Service Commission March 23, 2022 Regular Meeting Minutes Kent, Washington Approval Pending Chief Examiner Winecka explained that this follows the same process used last time to fill the vacancy. There being no questions, Chair Piecewicz made the following motion: "I make a motion to grant permisstion to test for Records Specialist with the process and weights as written." Commissioner Thomas seconded the motion; motion passed 3-0. 8. For the Good of the Order 9. Adjournment There being nothing further, Chair Piecewicz made a motion to adjourn.
