Mackintosh made a motion to approve the minutes as written. DuBois seconded and
the motion carried unanimously.

6. Performing Arts Committee
A. Spotlight Series 2018-2019 Report NO
-2018-2019 Report Staff shared the final report with numbers regarding
attendance and financials.
-2019-2020 Kick-off Tickets went on sale August 1. Brochures are being
distributed.
B. Summer Concert Series Update NO
Final week of concerts; the series has been a success.
7. Visual Arts/Acquisitions Committee
A. Kent-Meridian Pool Mural/Artwork: de-accession YES
-The pool is closed, and ownership will transfer the Kent School District. The
building will ultimately be demolished to make room for more classroom space.
-The pool is home to four art works (murals), all created in partnership with a
King County youth work training program and led by professional artist Louis

-Caravaglio made a motion to deaccession all the murals. Bagrationoff
seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
B. Kent Creates:
-Current exhibit Look Up (7/1 9/30) NO
C. Public Art NO
-Traffic Signal Control Box Art Wraps 8 artists selected to create designs: Jill
Erickson, Joy Hagen, Melissa Koch, Cam Kristenson, Vikram Madan, Erica Peto,
Dinah Rau, and Ken Winnick.
-Morrill Meadows Update Fabrication is underway, sculptures will be installed by
in-house crews after the opening of the YMCA and new Morrill Meadows Park.
D. Creative Consultancies Update NO
-Staff is working with consultant Lucia Neare to schedule some activities in
-Meeting with new Downtown Partnership executive director is planned for Sept.
8.General updates/other business
A. Give Me Culture application: UTOPIA YES
($1,220 remaining in 2019 budget)
Vote postponed; Commissioners request additional information for
consideration in September.

and Christy Caravaglion doing an installation at Buriens Arts Aglow on Sept. 7.
