1. Call to order – Chair Smith called the meeting to order at 6:08 p.m.

3. Changes to the Agenda - None
4. May Minutes YES
Bagrationoff made a motion to approve the minutes as written. Kristenson
seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
5. Treasurer’s Report – None NO
6. Performing Arts Committee
A. Spotlight Series 2018-2019 Report NO
Still waiting on final bills from the Kent School District.
7. Visual Arts/Acquisitions Committee
A. Summer Art Exhibit Purchase Awards YES
Mackintosh made a motion to approve the Purchase Jury’s recommendation and to
accept the new pieces into the City Art Collection. Bagrationoff seconded and the
motion carried unanimously.
B. Kent Creates:
-Current exhibit – Awakening (4/1 – 6/30) NO
-Voting on mobile devices – Estimate of $6,500 to create this functionality.
Commission decide against moving forward.
C. Public Art NO
-Traffic Signal Control Box Art Wraps – Westman and Goodwillie volunteered to be
Arts Commission representatives to the panel.
-Morrill Meadows – Update

Staff is working with the Legal Department to finalize artist’s contract.

A. SOCO Culture – no updates
B. Kent School District/Arts Education – Caravaglio presented a letter support arts
education on behalf of the Commission at the last school board meeting.
C. June 18, 5 p.m., Council Workshop
PROS presentation on Rec Plan – several commissioners are able to attend.
