1. Call to Order/Roll Call:
Commission Chair Taylor called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
2. Changes to Agenda:
None
3. Minutes For September 22, 2021:
Approved
4. Public Comment (if any):
None
5. Confirmation of Novembers Meeting:
Decision made moving the time of the meeting to 5:00 p.m. with two virtual
attendees to allow occupancy of Chambers.
6. 2022 Mid Biennium Budget Update and Allocation of City ARPA Funds:
Director Parascondola gave a high-level 2022 Mid Biennium and Allocation of City
ARPA Funds and shared the Kent Parks, October 2021 New Budget Allocations
Summary with the Commission. Q&A occurred. No actions or decisions were
made.
7. Adoption of the Parks Commission Purpose and Value Statement:
The commission voted to adopt the new Parks Commission Purpose and Value
Statement. Commissioner McClung was first to act. Commissioner Duggan
seconded. Vote passed unanimously
8. Parks Commission Advocacy Process with City Administration:
The consultant, Randy Brinson of Third Sector, provided a brief overview of what
was discussed at the last meeting. Director Parascondola provided an update of
what the Commission can influence and what they cannot. Mr. Brinson continued
the process of what it can look like for a better Parks Commission Advocacy with
the City Administration, Q&A occurred. No actions or decisions were made.
