Subject: Resignation from the Kent Police Department
Chief Padilla and Chain of Command,
It is with both joy and sadness that I write this email. I have been offered and accepted a Conditional
Offer of Employment with Renton Regional Fire Authority.
I have had an amazing career and growth as an officer and a person while here for the previous near 17
years. It is not a decision lightly made but one that is best for me and my family.
At this time it is thought that my first day at Renton RFA would be December 16,2021 meaning my last
day here would be December 15, 2021.
Thank you kindly,
Shane Walter
