Kill Jalene From: Lamp, Craig Sent: Thursday, May 20, 2021 08:15 To; Pinelli, Marla Cc; Padilla, Rafael Subject Corrected Resignation Letter- May 27th date correction Hi Chief Padilla, This e-mail serves as my notice of resignation from the Kent Police Department. My intended timeline is to have my last day physically in the office on Thursday May 27th, then extend remaining vacation to June loth. I want you to know that the resignation is solely based on financial reasons, namely taking advantage of the housing sales market right now. We sold our house for money that we don't think will be available two years from now which was my original target date. We are relocating to Tennessee to be nearer to my step-daughter, and quite honestly to get to a lower cost and lower stress environment. I notified Sgt. Stansfeld yesterday and Commander Grove the previous Friday. I'm working on a transition document listing my day to day duties and responsibilities. I'm offering to work remotely for the department past my original resignation timeframe if the organization sees a need for it. I completely understand if this is not an option. This is a mixed blessing for me. I'm excited for my new adventure and will be forever grateful for the professional and personal opportunity the Kent Police Department provided to me to include my family. This is truly the best career I've had in my lifetime. I'm truly blessed and humbled to have been a part of this excellent organization to include other departments within the city. Please reach out if you have any immediate questions or if you need anything from me. Very respectfully, C.
