Item Description
1. Call to order – Chair Dan Cox called the meeting to order at 5:44 p.m.
2. Roll Call – Excused: Caravaglio, French, O’Brien, Ohno
3. Changes to the Agenda – None
4. May Minutes – Taskey made a motion to approve the minutes as written. DuBois
seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
5. Treasurer’s Report – May Month End financial reports were distributed for review.
6. Performing Arts Committee
A. Summer Concert Series – Kicked off on Wed., July 6.
B. Spotlight Series 2022-2023 – Confirmed performances include: Catapult,
Darlingside, Magical Strings, Jazz at Lincoln Center, International Guitar Night, and
Ray on My Mind. Staff is working on finalizing one additional performance before
the season brochure goes to print.
7. Visual Arts/Acquisitions Committee
A. Titus Railroad Park Mural – Artist Mary Iverson will begin painting on the Rain &
Co. Building on Sat., July 23.

-Opening Reception – Approximately 150 people attended the opening on
Wednesday, June 8, including many of the artists.
-Purchase Awards – Treese made a motion to accept the 2022 Purchase Jury’s
selections into the City’s permanent portable art collection. Taskey seconded
and the motion carried unanimously.
-Gallery Exhibit Awards – The Purchase Jury also selected artists for exhibits in
the upcoming season: Leslie Barber, Hall Jameson, Sheri Jacobson, Hyosoon
Jung, Sonya Lang, Andrea Lewicki, Bonnie Smerdon, Vaeomatoka Valu, Diane
Walker, and Xin Xin
D. Chestnut Ridge Public Art – Artist Scott Trimble is onsite at Chestnut Ridge
installing art this week.
E. Traffic Signal Control Box – Proposals: Philpotts made a motion to approve the
artists’ proposals. Taskey seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
F. Kent Creates
-Here Comes the Sun Exhibit – Commissioners should vote by the end of the
day on Friday, July 15.
-Long term program update – No new news
8. General updates/other business
A. Community Arts Support Grant
-Rainier Chorale Change Proposal – Stekovic made a motion to approve the
proposal. Olmsted seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
B. SOCO Culture – No report
C. Alternate position – Staff and Chair Cox will interview two potential candidates in
the next two weeks.

10. Adjourn – The meeting was adjourned at 6:22 p.m.
