Page 2 of 2 Packet Pg. 3 LAND USE AND PLANNING BOARD 4^4 220 Fourth Avenue South Kent, WA 98032 KENT WASHINGTON DATE: February 28, 2022 TO: Land Use and Planning Board FROM: Public Works SUBJECT: 2023-2028 Transportation Improvement Program Update (Draft) SUMMARY: The Draft 2023-2028 Six-Year TIP represents the City's proposed transportation improvement work program for the next six years. Per RCW 35.77.010, the six-year plan for each city shall specifically set forth those projects and programs of regional significance for inclusion in the transportation improvement program within that region. The program is also required to be consistent with the Kent Comprehensive Plan. Including projects in the Six-Year TIP allows the City to search for funding partners and apply for grants. Most State and Federal agencies require that projects being submitted for grants be included in the City's adopted Six-Year TIP. SUPPORTS STRATEGIC PLAN GOAL: Evolving Infrastructure - Connecting people and places through strategic investments in physical and technological infrastructure. Thriving City - Creating safe neighborhoods, healthy people, vibrant commercial districts, and inviting parks and recreation. Sustainable Services - Providing quality services through responsible financial management, economic growth, and partnerships. Inclusive Community - Embracing our diversity and advancing equity through genuine community engagement.
