Yes No Dir Asst: Sup/Mgr: Dir/Dep: rev. 20210513 FOR CITY OF KENT OFFICIAL USE ONLY Agreement Routing Form For Approvals, Signatures and Records Management (Optional) Basis for Selection of Contractor: * Memo to Mayor must be attached Termination Date: Authorized to Sign: KENT SCHOOL DISTRICT KENT EQUITY: EXCELLENCE COMMUNITY EXTENSION LETTER OF SCHOOL SAFETY SERVICES LIAISON AGREEMENT FOR 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR On August 27, 2021, the City of Kent and the Kent School District entered into a School Safety Services Liaison Agreement for the 2021-2022 school year ("Agreement"), which included an Initial Term that began on September 1, 2021, through August 31, 2022. The Agreement provided that the parties could agree to extend the term of the Agreement, on the same terms and conditions, for up to five successive periods of 12 months each, provided that: (i) Attachment A to the Agreement was adjusted to reflect the actual salary and benefit cost incurred by the City in providing services under the Agreement, and (ii) each party agreed to the extension in writing. Through their mutual signing of this Extension Letter, the parties agree to the extension of the Agreement for the 2022-2023 school year, beginning on September 1, 2022 and continuing through August 31, 2023, and 'to an adjbs`tment in the consideration paid by the Kent School District for the services provided by the City of Kent as provided for in Agreement. Except as specifically stated herein, no other modifications to the Agreement shall be made by this "Extension Letter of School Resource Officer Agreement for 2022-2023 School Year."The language in Attachment A to the Agreement is amended to revise the consideration as provided below: ATTACHMENT"A" TO SCHOOL SAFETY SERVICES LIAISON AGREEMENT The parties agree that the total cost to the Department to provide a School Safety Services Liaison, with a law enforcement officer who is employed by the Department and holds the rank of Commander or higher, to the District for the 2021-2022 school year, in accordance with the terms of the parties' Agreement, is $257,358 $"^,�40 regardless of actual salary or benefit adjustments that may be made by the Department for the Commander. The District's reimbursement obligation, which is twenty-five percent (25%) of the total cost to the Department for the Liaison provided to the District, equals $64,339.50 $55,186.12. This sum will be considered the District's total reimbursement obligation for the Liaison provided by the Department for the duration of the performance period of this Agreement, regardless of actual salary or benefit adjustments that may be made by the Department for its officer the rank of Commander or higher. The District shall pay said reimbursement in twelve (12) approximately equal monthly payments spread over a one-year period starting September 1, 2021, with each payment being made upon submission by the Department of a monthly invoice; provided, in the event this Agreement is executed after Extension Letter Re: School Services Liaison Agreement Page 1 of 2 (between City of Kent and the Kent School District) 09/13/2022
