This Change Order amends the above-referenced contract; all other provisions of the
contract that arg. not inconsistent with this Change Order shall remain in effect. For valuable
consideration and by mutual consent of the parties, the project contract is modified as follows:
1. Section I of the Agreement, entitled "Description of Work," is hereby modified to add
additional work or revise existing work as follows:
In addition to work required under the original Agreement and any prior
Amendments, Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, and
equipment necessary to:
ClaVal modifications to pump station 4 and 6 which are required to
operate the stations in conjunction with the new West Hill Reservoir.
2. The contract amount and time for pefformance provisions of Section II "Time of
Completion ," and SectiOn III, "Compensation," are hereby modified as fOllowS:

In accordance with Sections 1-04.4 and 1-04.5 of the Kent and WSDOT Standard
Specifications, and Section VII of the Agreement, the Contractor accepts all requirements of this
Change Order by signing below. Also, pursuant to the above-referenced contract, Contractor
agrees to waive any protest it may have regarding this Change Order and acknowledges and
aicepts that this Change Order constitutes final settlement of all claims of any kind or nature
arising from or connectdd with any work either covered or affected by this Change order, including,
without limitation, claims related to contract time, contract acceleration, onsite or home office
overhead, or lost profits. This Change Order, unless otherwise provided, does not relieve the
Contractor from sirict compliance wiih the guarantee and warranty provisions of the original
contract, pafticularly those pertaining to substantial completion date.
All acts consistent with the authority of the Agreement, previous Change Orders (if any)'
and this Change Order, prior to the effective date ol this Change Order, are hereby ratified and
affirmed, and the terms of the Agreement, previous Change Orders (if any), and this Change Order
shall be deemed to have applied.
The parties whose names appear below swear under penalty of perjury that they are
authorized to enter into this contract modification, which is binding on the parties of this contract.
3. The Contractor will adjust the amount of its pefformance bond (if any) for this project
to be consistent with the revised contract sum shown in section 2, above'

Chad,
Attached is a proposal to revise two 6" Cla-Val Pressure Reducing and Solenoid Shut-off
Valves. The components added as part of this revision are an electronic interface pilot system
with position transmitter, and anti-cavitation trim. These components must be installed by a
representative from the manufacture in order to not void their warranty. As I understand it,
these components were not included in the original plan set due to multiple disciplines being
involved.
With GC markup the cost for taking care of these 2 valves is $28,331.80. Are you okay with
proceeding with this work as a change order to the contract?
Please let me know if you need any additional information or have questions that I can track
down for you.

Eric and Jason,
Due to the water system operation changes caused by the West Hill Reservoir, the Cal-Val at
Pump Station 4 had to be reconfigured to accommodate them. The reconfiguring required a new
Cla-Val, pilots, etc. I've attached the quote and Sean Bauer's approval to movelorward with the
change.
Move forward or wait for Kelly peterson's comments?

Contained below is a description of the additional parts and work needed to modify the ClaVal's
at PS 4 and 6. Please review, making sure these are the changes desired. I will review the
speci1cations to see if any of the costs are covered or mentioned there. Obviously this will have

to cover the operation of the system as it functions today and after the new transmission main
and pump station is installed.
That is not the final cost, the GC will get their markups.

see below pricing from GC systems for the modifications to the valves
ln talking to the electricalsub they have no coverage and System lnterface did not provide as part of the quote. you can
look at the SOV and the break out and see there just is no money in that line item.
This bid item and description is deceptive. Reads more like controland electricalwork. Specific contract plans forthese
modifications are in the E drawings. E201 and E30L have pictures and the modifications are listed under the "Electrical
and lnstrumentation schedule." This schedule points you to the specification.
lf you go to the specification s, 'J'5.34.42, this does provide guidance on additional solenoids and modify pilot system but
no detail is provided on really what we now know needs to be done, the valves will need to be re-plumbed by a certified
rep of the valve that knows how the valve works.
The bid description could have been written better and the valves should have been shown in the mechanical drawings.
I would like you to review and would like your opinion. Maybe we can talk next Monday.

The district confirmed they do not want to remove the relief pilot system on the 6"'
During the conference call between the City, RH2, and GC Systems Carrol (GC) stated that they could get a design from
California to provide all requirements or needs outlined in RFI 35 by RH2.
Please request a submittal and price for rebuild of the valves.
