Commissioner Piecewicz made a motion to approve the minutes from
the December 20, 2017 special Civil Service Commission meeting.
Motion was seconded by Commissioner Thomas; motion passed 3-0.

Commissioner Plecewicz made a motion to adjourn. Commissioner Thomas

Dear Commissioners:
This memo serves as a request to add a new subsection to Civil Service Rule 10, "Establishment of
Eligibility and Reinstatement Lists," to allow an entry level police officer candidate to transfer to the
eligibility list for an entry level corrections officer position, If the police officer candidate fails to pass
the Chiefs interview.
-� Proposed Addition:
10.09 Transfer From Eligibility List for Entry Level Police Officer to €II Ibll't
List for Entry Level Corregtions Officer. Any individual who has successfully
tested with PubllcSafetyTesting who does not successfully complete the
Chief's interview portion of the testing process for an Entry Level Police
Officer may, upon the approval of the Chief of Police (or designee), be
provided a written offer to transfer to the eligibility list for Entry Level
Corrections Officer. If an individual accepts the City's offer to transfer
eligibility lists, the individual will be removed from the eligibility list for
Entry Level Police Officer and placed on the eligibility list for Entry Level
Corrections Officer, and upon such transfer, the Individual's rank on the
eligibility list for Entry Level Corrections Officer will be determined in
accordance with rule 10.04.
It should be noted that this requested Civil Service rule change is not intended to change or
supersede any other portion of section 10, or section 11, Certification of Lists and Order of
Appointment.
