The meeting was called to order at 4 p.m., with Lew Sellers presiding.
2. Roll Call

3. Chanoes to the Agenda
Jeff Piecewicz MOVED to approve the agenda as presented and Randall Smith
SECONDED the motion.
The Motion passed unanimously with a vote of 3-0.
4. Aooroval of Minutes dated Julv 27, 2O17
Randall Smith MOVED to approve the minutes dated July 27, 2OL7, and Jeff
Piecewicz SECONDED the motion.
The Motion passed unanimously with a vote of 3-0.

5. Excused Absences
Jeff Piecewicz MOVED to approve the excused absences for Mike Miller and Carmen
Goers, and Randall Smith SECONDED the motion.
The Motion passed unanimously with a vote of 3-0
6. Sale of Seattle Thunderbirds
Kurt Hanson, Deputy Director of the City of Kent Economic and Community
Development Department and Colin Campbell, Assistant General Manager of the
Thunderbirds, provided a review of the information and documents that were
presented to and approved by the Kent City Council on October 17, 2OL7.
Colin Campbell indicated that Russ Farwell, Thunderbirds General Manager has
agreed to continue as the General Manager for two years. Colin also indicated that
he has entered into a long-term agreement with Silent Ice, Inc.
7. Finance Reports
A. City of Kent
i. State Auditor's Audit. Aaron BeMiller, City of Kent Finance
Director, provided an excerpt from the Office of the Washington State Auditor's
Financial Statements Audit Report of the City of Kent Special Events Center Public
Facilities District for the period of January I, 2OL6, through December 3L, 20L6.
Aaron indicated there we no findings and that the complete report is available on
the State Auditor's website at SAO.WA.gov.
ii. Sales Tax Collected Update. Aaron BeMiller, City of Kent Finance
Director, provided a review of the accesso ShoWare Center operating fund through
September 30, 2OL7, the Kent Special Events Center Public Facilities District Fund
through September 30, 2OI7, and the Kent Public Facilities District Sales Tax
Collections, Inception to Date through September 30,2Ot7.
B. accesso ShoWare Center. Arletta Voter, SMG Finance Director,
provided details of the accesso ShoWare Center Income Statement for the quarter
ending September 30, 20L7 .
Tim Higgins, SMG General Manager, indicated there are more maintenance and
general expenses due to the age of the building and the increase in use.
Jeff Piecewicz MOVED to approve the financial reports as submitted and Randall
Smith SECONDED the motion.
The motion passed unanimously with a vote of 3-0.

8. Operations Update
alb. General Manager/Marketing Update.
Tim Higgins, SMG General Manager, advised of the plan to integrate the new
point-of-sale system with the ticketing system. Tim advised of the recent upgrades
to LED lighting in the parking lot in addition to the planned 2018 capital projects.
Erin Buck, Director of Sales and Marketing provided the Public Facilities
District marketing update through October, 2OL7, including total attendance,
website traffic, social media activity, and email marketing.
Erin Buck reviewed highlights of recent events, upcoming ticketed events,
and upcoming community and catering events.
C. City of Kent. No report
9. Seattle Thunderbirds Uodate
A. Sales. Marketing and Attendance. Colin Campbell provided details
regarding the Thunderbirds opening night game at the accesso ShoWare Center.
B. Advertising and Suite Sales. Colin Campbell advised that ticket sales
have increased and many of the suites have been sold out. Additionally,
advertising space throughout the building is nearly sold out and they are looking for
additional advertising opportunities both inside and outside the building.

Randall Smith moved to adjourn the meeting and Jeff Piecewicz SECONDED the
motion.
The motions passed unanimously with a vote of 3-0.
