Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 4:03 p.m., with Lew Sellers presiding. 2. Roll Call Mike Miller and Jeff Piecewicz were absent 3. Changes to the Agenda None 5. Approval of Minutes dated April 27, 2017 Carmen Goers MOVED to approve the minutes dated April 27, 2017, and Randall Smith SECONDED the motion. The Motion passed unanimously with a vote of 3-0. 5. Excused Absence of Carmen Goers for the April 27, 2017, Meeting Randall Smith MOVED to approve the excused absence of Carmen Goers for the April 27, 2017, meeting and Carmen Goers SECONDED the motion. Excused Absence for Jeff Piecewicz for the July 27, 2017, Meeting Randall Smith MOVED to approve the excused absence of Jeff Piecewicz for the July 27, 2017, meeting and Carmen Goers SECONDED the motion. The motion passed unanimously with a vote of 3-0. 7. Finance Reports a. City of Kent. Aaron BeMiller, City of Kent Finance Director, provided a brief overview of the updated versions of the financial reports for the Kent Public Facilities District Sales Tax Collections Inception to Date thru June 30, 2017; the Kent Special Events Center Public Facilities District Fund for June 30, 2017; and the ShoWare Center Operating Fund for June 30, 2017. Aaron BeMiller presented information and answered questions regarding the revenue and sales tax bonds. Aaron advised that the State Auditor’s Office just completed their audit of the PFD’s books and that he will present a report at the October meeting. Aaron also advised that he will present updated sales tax collection revenues at the October meeting. b. ShoWare Center. Arletta Voter, SMG Finance Director, provided details of the ShoWare Center Income Statement for the quarter ending June 30, 2017. 8. Operations Update a/b. General Manager/Marketing Update Erin Buck was introduced by Tim Higgins as the new Director of Sales and Marketing and Erin provided information regarding attendance, website traffic, social media statistics, and email marketing. Erin also reviewed highlights of recent events, including upcoming ticketed and community and catering events. Tim Higgins, SMG General Manager, indicated that the name change to Accesso ShoWare Center will take place over the next 30-45 days and will be complete by September 23, 2017. Tim indicated the naming rights were purchased for the next ten years and will bring in an additional $3 million dollars in revenue over the next ten years. Tim indicated the new point-of-sale system is being updated at a cost of $375,000-$400,000 and will include chip readers. Josh Holmes, SMG Director of Operations, presented information regarding upcoming changes to security measures that are being implemented at the center. Seattle Thunderbirds Update – Colin Campbell, Seattle Thunderbirds Assistant Manager, presented information regarding the Thunderbirds WHL Championship and participation in the Memorial Cup. Colin advised that the head coach has accepted a position with the Anaheim Ducks and that Matt O’Dette will be promoted as the new head coach. Colin detailed season ticketing and sponsorship information. 10. Other Business Information regarding the frequency of fire inspections and parking issues were discussed. 11. They soon moved onto the US Legends Cup Championships where they won the championship title for a 2nd time.  On September 23rd the announcement and reveal of our new venue name and logo, accesso ShoWare Center, was presented to a SOLD OUT crowd attending the season opener of the Seattle Thunderbirds. The team from accesso Technologies presented the ceremonial puck drop and attended that evening’s game.  Implementation of new Point-of-Sale system, accesso Siriusware, has 66 new systems running in the facility since September 23rd. With the new technology, new chip readers have been implemented for a safer transaction and new marketing assets have been added in the building through the front facing screens. Since then we have had 6 home games with 30 more home games to be hosted at home.  September 1st – 3rd the venue hosted the International Women’s Flat Track Roller Derby Playoffs were 12 teams from all over the world competed to get into the finals help in Philadelphia  SOLD OUT crowd came to attend the Christian music festival OUTCRY Summer Tour 2017 with 5,193 patrons in the building  Best of the Best Comedy Jam featuring Eddie Griffin and 3 other comedians SOLD OUT their show on September 6th with over 2,700 patrons in the building  Hosted the DSHS Job Fair on September 13th where multiple local companies came in and the venue attended the Young Adult Job Fair with WorkSource at the Kent Community Commons on September 21st  Hosted the “Kent Business Expo” on October 11th along with “Columbia Distributers” Private Client Event on October 12th  MultiCare hosted their annual Leadership Engagement Forum & Luncheon at the venue where our we catered both breakfast and lunch for over 850 attendees  On October  The facility participated in the “Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drill” on October 19th where the facility worked with the Kent Emergency Coordination Center to test radio communication and other emergency equipment.  Tacoma Stars kick off their season on October 27th at 7:35PM.
