1. Call to Order/Roll Call:
Commission Chair Zandria Michaud called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
2. Changes to Agenda:
There were no changes to the agenda
3. Minutes dated October 24, 2017:
Moved to approve at next Commission Meeting January 23, 2018
4. Youth Initiative Update
Presentation by Willie Seals on the Youth Initiative Program
Commission request communication/clarification of what is the City’s role vs.
Partnership/Communities driven role.
5. 2018 Agenda Planning
The commission agreed to cancel December’s meeting. Director Julie
Parascondola went over the 2018 Agenda and what topics the Commission
would want on the calendar for future meetings. The Director is scheduling the
Mayor in either January or February meeting to introduce herself. The Chair and
Director are also having Kent PD give presentation/discussion to the Commission
regarding the Kent Community. Lining up other speakers, i.e., Kent Downtown
Partnership as well as inviting new Council members to meet the Commission.
The Commissioners will be advised as to when these will take place.
6. Announcements:
The Square foot Tax increase Passed. Chair Zandria Michaud and Tye Whitfield
were reappointed to the Commission. Clark Stevens is the newest Commissioner
joining the Commission in January.
