Agenda:
1. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 2:45 p.m.
2. Roll Call
Five Commissioners are absent.
3. Changes to the Agenda
Veterans and Human Services Levy update – Mike Heinisch.
4. Approval of Minutes, dated May 18, 2017
There were not enough attending Commissioners to reach a quorum so the pending
minutes from February 16, 2017, April 20, 2017 and May 18, 2017 were not
approved.
5. Presentation – Treehouse (Hayley Sherman and Jackie Weller)
Staff from Treehouse presented information on programs designed to serve
students in the foster care system by providing support through services and cross-
agency partnerships. Staggering statistic show the value and need for services to
youth in the foster care. Over 50% of foster care youth do not graduate from high

school, 1 in 5 experience homelessness and less than 3% make it to college.
Treehouse provides students with the academic and other essential support that
they need to succeed. http://www.treehouseforkids.org/
6. 2019 Allocation Mapping (Lori Guilfoyle)
With the coming application cycle, staff and commissioners have been asked to
review the process and validity of the questions asked of agencies in the
application.
7. Youth Initiative Coordinator - Update (Lori Guilfoyle)
Youth Coordinator, Willie Seals, will start tomorrow. Willie comes to the position
with a seasoned background working with youth in Kent and South King County.
Previously with Glover Empower Mentor Program and Puget Sound College, Willie
brings much experience working with youth in our community.
8. Share1app – Update and Survey
9. Updates
Veterans and Human Services Levy has been renamed the Veterans, Seniors and
Human Services Levy amount has tripled to include seniors. Levy to be split into
thirds. (Mike Heinisch)
