Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 2:30 p.m. 2. Roll Call Three Commissioners absent. 3. Changes to the Agenda Youth Initiative Agency Update – REWA Severe Weather Shelter Operation 4. Approval of Minutes, dated November 17, 2016 Commissioner Hallerman MOVED to approve the Minutes of November 17, 2016, and Commissioner Harris SECONDED the motion. The motion passed unanimously. 5. Office of Refugee & Immigrant – Housing Summit (Dinah) Housing summit tentatively scheduled for April. Meeting scheduled to occur quarterly to discuss lack of housing and impacts on the community. Youth Initiative (Lori) Youth Coordinator position description has been drafted will be taken to Parks Committee tonight. The four main goals of the initiative are Prevention, Intervention, Enforcement and Re-Connection and will be used to roles and service gaps. (Framework handout attached) 7. Agency Update –REWA (Dinah) Agency funded for Case Management and Senior Meals in 2015-2016. Agency has struggled to meet outcomes and submit reporting on time. Direction and staffing of agency is uncertain. Staff recommends not to fund through CDBG 2017-2018. Formal decision to come. 8. Severe Weather Shelter (Christine Cain) Due to the dangerously night time lows, the Severe Weather Shelter was activated January 2nd –January 5th. The shelter served between 56 and 104 individuals including a family of 19. 9. Presentation – Full Life Care (Patti Dahlman) Full Life Care provides services that enhance the quality of life for seniors and people with chronic or terminal illnesses and disabilities. Specialized services include in-home care, mental health counseling, nursing and rehab services. Full Life care currently serves 165 residents in Kent. 10. King County Post Election Convening (Dinah) King County will be holding a convening on immigration, impacts on services. People not represented on task force are being encouraged to participate. The convening is tentatively scheduled February 6th, 2017. 11. Calendar Planning (Merina) Adjournment At 3:53 p.m., Mike Heinisch declared the meeting adjourned.
